I'm Tierney, a 24 year old student currently completing my second (and last) semester in Teacher's College. Prior to Teacher's College, I graduated with my Honors B.A in Sociology with a Minor in Geography and Earth Sciences.
During my summers I nanny for a great 7 year old and her 2 year old brother. I have been with them for two summers now and they're the sweetest-- sometimes I think that they're my own! During the school year, I nanny part time and also tutor when I have free time.
When I was roughly 13 years old, I was diagnosed with scoliois. I have had a number of surgeries and have been left with chronic pain and a tear in my left shoulder due to one of my operations, only further complicating my chronic pain. I'm currently waiting for a surgery on my shoulder and I plan to use this blog to help document my journey and inform readers on scoliosis and chronic pain from my perspective.
This is Jay. He's 26 and loves burritos. He also loves me, which makes me very, very lucky. We've been together for just over 6 year, since I was 17. We've made it through four major back operations, four school changes, two crazy families, starting two businesses, chronic pain and moving in together. Clearly, we've been through a lot. Hopefully this means we can make it through anything.
Jay is a carpenter who owns his own business. He is extremely talented and takes pride in his work-- he loves what he does. Currently, he renovated the home that we live in and specializes in trim carpentry, full renovations, decks and window installations. In his free time, he plays goal in two different ice hockey leagues and participates in ball hockey when he's free.
